Navajo Interactive Museum – Tuba City, AZ

By Ron Goulet

Experience the journey the Navajo people take through life in this exciting space that introduces you to the land, language, history, culture and ceremonial life of the Navajo people. In the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department built a huge educational display about the Navajo people to showcase Navajo to the world. At the conclusion of the Olympics, it was decided the display would make its home in Tuba City.

This unique museum is divided into four sections. The pattern of four is sacred to the Navajo people, who observe the four directions as an organizational force for life, and the four seasons as governing all personal and societal activity.

The museum is open seven days a week: Monday–Saturday from

8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 6:00 p.m. Learn
