WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — Last week the Navajo Nation announced a reopening plan which includes popular tourism sites across the reservation, such as Canyon De Chelly and Monument Valley.

While the National Park Service controls some of these destinations, they have remained closed during the tribe’s closure. The tribe posted its reopening plan. The plan contains a color coding system that will vary on the level of threat caused by Covid-19.

Meanwhile, a number of tribal employees have returned to work, which include employees who work for the tribal parks. Keep posted and we will notify you which parks will be opening in the next few days.
